Digital India is an initiative of Government of India to integrate the government departments and the people of India. It aims at ensuring the government services are made available to citizens electronically by reducing paperwork. The initiative also includes plan to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks (Government of India). Digital India has three core components. These include creation of digital infrastructure, delivering services digitally and digital literacy. (Government of India). One of the most important initiative have been taken by Our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. E-governance has the prospective to build government operations and processes more crystal clear and more valuable for general public and businesses, and to endow with a diversity of payback for the community at large and linking citizens to government in a row at any time. But prior to the execution of these e- services, we have to evaluate whether we are e-ready or not. According to Network readiness index India’s ranking drops 15th position to 83rd position (report, 2014). The success rate of e governance projects in India is quite low as compared to other nations especially if we compared to developed nations. One of the reasons behind is our ICT infrastructure is not up to the mark. Government is taking so many initiatives for better internet connectivity as most of the e-services now a days are on internet so powerful internet connection is the need of ours in recent times. Google is in talk with the INDIAN government to commence the Project LOON. An internet project that uses high- altitude balloons to offer affordable internet across the globe to people without any access. (India, 2015) If it could materialize then developing nations like our India’s rural area will get benefited the most.
